The Feminization of Posture

Introduction to Sissy Posture

Maintaining proper feminine, sissy posture is extremely important.  Having well-practiced good posture will pay huge dividends as you prepare to become passable en femme.  Sissy posture is a topic I have addressed several times before.  Hopefully, this post will provide even more information on the topic.

The Importance of Posture

An informal study suggests that a woman's posture accounts for 3% of a woman's external attractiveness.  The same study, notes that with some analysis, one can conclude that posture is worthy of about "5% of the time that a woman spends on her appearance."  Furthermore, according to the article's author, only fitness, hair, and makeup are more important to attractiveness.  By inference, this means that nails, breasts, clothing are all less important to attractiveness than posture.  We can assume this equally applies to the feminization of men into sissies.

The differences between the male and female body are substantial.  To avoid this post on the feminization of posture being unduly long, I will simply list some of the major differences for you consideration.  As you read these, consider what techniques can be used to overcome structural differences between men and women.

  • Lack of testosterone during puberty results in (as compared to men) less prominent brow bone, smaller jaw, less developed chin and nose
  • Widened hips and other changes result in a "hip sway" mostly absent in males
  • Upper limbs have more outward angle to accomodate the wider pelvis
  • Estrogen promotes fat storage in buttocks, thighs, and hips
  • Women's posture and gait, of course, must also account for the presence of breasts
  • Women tend to have an 'hourglass' or 'pear' shape as opposed to V-shape, or rectangle shape.


This is by no means a complete list.  However, it does serve to highlight just how extensive the differences are between men's and women's postures.


Corset and Posture Collars

Corsets and posture collars are both used in the S&M community for a variety of reasons.  But central among them, is to force the submissive to maintain proper posture at all times.  Corsets can improve posture as well  as relieve back pain.  Long-term corset use can have risks but can also aid in long-term waist control  A posture collar is a collar designed to improve posture through extension of the next and restriction of its movement.

Surprisingly, I have also found that a bra--especially a quality sports bra--is an excellent (even necessary?) tool to achieving proper femine sissy posture  If you don't own a sports bra, or at least a training bra, they are an absolute necessity to your wardrobe.  If fact, I think there may be a forthcoming post dedicated to sissies in sports bras. 

Basic steps to proper posture

Honestly, if you've made it this far, you're a lot more dedicated than most people that peruse this blog (believe me, I'm telling the truth...Google Analytics confirms how short most of you stay on a page).  So, I've saved the less interesting, but most important stuff for last.

Here's some basic steps to proper posture:
  • Look for signs of poor posture
    • Are you achy at the end of the day?
    • Is your lower back always in pain?
    • Do you feel muscle fatigue while working or being at a desk?
  • Look in a mirror
    • Are you shoulders square or are they hunched?
  • Sit on the edge of your chair while working
    • It will force you to maintain better posture
  •  Stay away from cheap shoes--whether en femme or not.
  • Leave notes reminding you to improve your posture.
    • Once technique I've heard involves setting an alarm at :17 past the hour (or any minute) that reminds you hourly to check your posture.
